Good Music from GOOD Music

The GOOD Music camp has been blowing up the scene with some fire tracks the past couple of days. Big Sean has been dropping tracks off his HIGHLY anticipated Finally Famous, due out June 28th and from what I have heard it is going to be unreal. “Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay,” “High,” and “100 Bars” could all be potential singles because they are all straight bangers. All of these tracks also have unreal help including hilarious Kanye and an unexpected Roscoe Dash on “Marvin Gaye,” Wiz Khalifa and Chiddy Bang on “High,” and Richard Ross and Pusha on “100 Bars.” These tracks are all star studded and are ready to blow up. Also Kanye dropped the final version of his track “Mama’s Boyfriend” which was a suspected from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy but is a great track nonetheless and has got a nice old school Kanye feel to it. The last track is a dope track off of GOOD Music member CyHi The Prince’s new mixtape Royal Flush 2 featuring Big Sean and produced by Kanye and No I.D. which is just the icing on the cake for this GOOD Music set.

Because SoundCloud is being difficult I am dropping “Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay” courtesy of YHTN‘s Hulkshare.

“I’m On One” by DJ Khaled ft. Drake, Lil Wayne, & Rick Ross

Even though DJ Khaled is featured on this track and I wish he had nothing to do with it, do not be fooled because this track is FIRE. Drake goes back to his old self with a sick hook combined with singing and sick verse, as well as Weezy gracing us with a nice verse which I haven’t seen in a while. I even enjoyed Rossy’s verse which is rare for me. This track? Love to.

Because SoundCloud is salting my game real bad right now, here is the download link courtesy of PNP:

“If I Die Today” by Lil Wayne ft. Rick Ross

This track underwhelmed but I will never not post the second single off of Tha Carter IV. Weez and Rick Ross doing some of that trap ish, check it out. All I am saying is that if Lil Tunechi can back up what he has been saying about his next single “Wayne’s World,” I cannot wait till that gets dropped.

“Can A Drummer Get Some?” by Travis Barker ft. Swizz Beatz, The Game, Lil’ Wayne & Rick Ross

Fresh on Campus

I’ve heard Travis Barker do some remixes to other hip-hop tracks before, but this song is originally written for Travis’ heavy-hitting drum lines and it sounds oh so sweet. I can’t wait to hear more from this project.

Shouts to Chinup Music.

The Professor’s Top 10 of ’10

Picking your top 10 favorite songs is like picking your top 10 favorite friends. Its kinda uncomfortable because you know there are so many more you want to include. They are all unique and have special meaning to you. And you’re probably going to realize you left one out once you finish the list.

Nevertheless, the Dean and I have both undertaken the challenge. I’m posting my favorites today, The Dean is posting his tomorrow, and then on Friday, we’ll post the most popular songs of 2010 overall. Feel free to hop in the comments and offer feedback.

Without further ado, my number 10:

10. “Real Estate” by Wiz Khalifa – Mr. Khalifa had a pretty sweet run this year. He was able to increase his mainstream appeal while simultaneously maintaining his hip-hop fan base. Definitely not an easy transition when you’re an artist whose career has been based on grassroots support. For that, he has earned my respect and the first spot on the countdown.

9. “Chip Off The Block” by Machine Gun Kelly – Maybe I’m partial because I know the kid, but I feel like MGK is not getting enough shine for how talented of a rapper he is. This was a big year for him, with a feature on MTV and cosign from Big Sean. “Chip Off the Block” showcases his talent and potential. Plus its a great track for pregaming on nights when you’re tryna get buck.

8. “Supa Dupa Lemonade” by Big Sean – Yah I know this was Gucci Mane’s track first, but I could barely remember that song once I heard this. This song put Big Sean on the map for me and a lot of other people and remains one of my all-time favorite lyrical pieces. Sean goes hard from start to finish. Also check out “Too Fake” ft Chiddy Bang.

7. “Show Goes On” by Lupe Fiasco – Despite some woes with the label, Lupe dropped a few golden tracks on us this year as a teaser for what’s in store in 2011. This was one of the most popular posts on the site according to the thumb ratings (we check those!) and I can see why.

6. “Over” by Drake – As much as the media fawned over Kanye’s album this year, I think Drake’s Thank Me Later was the most impressive. It’s hard to believe that that was his first studio album when you consider how much swagger he carries and attention he attracts. “Over” was the first single released from that album and was one of my favorite songs this summer. Other TML notables include Unforgettable, Miss Me and Up All Night. Plus his “9AM in Dallas” freestyle is absolutely filthy.

“All I Do is Win (Sleeper Mix)” by DJ Khaled

It probably would have been a slightly better track if Sleeper had stuck with the first sample all the way through, but this track is still HOT! Shouts to WFGC.

The original track was dripping with swag. This remix is soaking wet.

“Give it To Em” by Akon ft. Rick Ross [CDQ]

Fresh on Campus

Akon makes bangers and Rawse makes slick tracks. Therefore it is only fitting that I want to describe this track as a slick banger.
