“Born This Way” by Lady Gaga

Fresh on Campus

Gaga just dropped a new track and, in typical fashion, it’s already surrounded in controversy. She’s being accused of stealing a good portion of the creative inspiration for the song from Colin Bean’s 1975 gay disco anthem, of the same name. Regardless of your social leanings, its a solid track with a retro feel – and its Gaga so you know it’ll get radio play.

Some people are going nuts over it, but to me it just seems like something they’d play in an episode of Barney… way too “everyone is special in their own way” type of BS for my liking.

Lady Gaga goes crowd surfing at Lollapalooza

If this video doesn’t dispel the “she’s a man” rumors, I don’t know what will.

“Alejandro (Rusko’s Papuseria Remix)” by Lady Gaga

Fresh on Campus

This takes Gaga’s track and turns it into a certified banger. It’s got a bit of that dubstep sound too if you ask me.

Shouts to the dudes at HF.

“Alejandro” by Lady Gaga [Video]

I don’t really know whether this is a music video or a actually just a short movie with a Gaga soundtrack. Either way, prepare yourself…

“Monsta” by Lady Gaga

Fresh on Campus
I haven’t seen this new Gaga on any other blogs and apparently that’s because it was released on the super-low. Gaga sold limited edition USB drives a few weeks ago packed with lots of her music and videos and apparently this previously unreleased track was on there as well.

You heard it here first.

PS: See this is what having dedicated readers brings in. Shouts to Paulina for being a huge Gaga fan and giving us the heads up on our Facebook page.

“Telephone” by ….Britney Spears?

Saw this story over at PMA and had to repost it here. Apparently the song “Telephone” which most of us know as a slick collaboration between two of the biggest female singers of our generation was actually written for the biggest female singer of yesteryear.

Apparently, Britney Spears decided to turn down the song after recording and producing a studio version of it, and it was then snapped up by Lady Gaga and Beyonce. I prefer the beat and flow of the Gaga/Beyonce version, but I’ll let you be the judge.

Here’s the more famous version:

TIME Magazine Declares Lady Gaga the World’s Most Influential Person

Fresh on Campus

So Time Magazine just rolled out its list of the 100 most influential people in the world and Lady Gaga sits on top of the heap.

I’ve got to say, I don’t know what to make of that finding. She sits on top of dozens of politicians, athletes and advocates who have arguably had a much larger impact on the people of this planet. But at the same time, I feel like my shock and disbelief epitomizes that woman’s career. Like she’s famous because she’s so provocative.

It’s not like I’ve been sitting here eagerly waiting for the results to be announced, but when I stumbled across them, I had to kind of sit in amazement and wonder exactly how she pulled it off. Just like that sparking bra. The world may never know.
