“Leap Year” by Hoodie Allen (Mixtape)

The day is finally here. My man Hoodie absolutely nails this tape on the head with a combination of party bangers, low key more verse- conscious and smart hip-hop tracks, and always bringing those witty punchlines to the table. Hoodie is by far one of the hardest working new artists out right now and you can see that from this final product. This is one of the best tapes of the summer and go ahead and make your day better by downloading this sucka.

“The Chase Is On” by Hoodie Allen + Video

One of FOC’s boys Hoodie Allen is back in action with another single off his highly anticipated mixtape,Leap Year due out on July 26th. “The Chase Is On” is a straight up banger like all of Hoodie’s other tracks in that it is catchy as hell and accompanied by Hoodie’s witty verses. The video co-stars MTV’s “Skins” actress Sofia Black D’Elia and is a relatable track about as Hoodie put it “[spotting] someone and [being] instantly attracted to them.” Hoodie is back with a vengeance and I’m not hating it…can’t wait for Leap Year!

“Rap Teacher (With Hoodie Allen)” by Jake & Amir
I’m not a huge fan of most of the stuff College Humor puts out cause it’s usually pretty corny, but the one series that I always loved was Jake & Amir. So when I saw Hoodie Allen was guest starring on this episode, I knew I had to share.
I spent ten minutes trying to express what actually makes me find them funny, but gave up when I realized that thinking hard about stuff makes it unfunny. Hopefully you just get it. If so, check out some of their other episodes here.

“Dreams Up” by Hoodie Allen

I really need to start keeping a list of artists who can do no wrong. The type that just kill it on every track. The type that make your palms sweat and heart race as you wait for their track to download. Cause Hoodie Allen would definitely be near the top of the list.
Throw in a reference to Mr. G and I’m sold. Shout out to Hoodie for sending this over. Check him out on Twitter and Facebook

“Pep Rally” by Hoodie Allen [Mixtape]

This kid knows how to drop lyrical BOMBS on the track and he’s got a really slick flow with a nice signature sound. You guys ate up “You Are Not a Robot” and “Words of Wisdom”. Plus, I included him on my list of top 5 up-and-coming artists to watch out for on MicControl. Long story short, this kid is hot and you should download this.

“Words of Wisdom” by Hoodie Allen

Following up his last successful hit, Hoodie Allen is back with this joint. He brings some more great punch-lines layered on top of another great use of a sample. He’s definitely on the way to becoming my favorite new artist of the summer.

“I Am Not a Robot” by Marina & The Diamonds [Video]
Whenever I hear a sick song that makes good use of a sample, I like to go back and listen to the sampled track in its original form. Used by Hoodie Allen in his hit, “You Are Not a Robot,” this song is surprisingly sweet and innocent. Enjoy.
