“Turn Me On” by H20 feat. Bruno Mars

Finally people are starting to utilize the crooning voice of Bruno Mars for a feel-good smooth R&B jam. Accompanied by a nice flow from H2O, Mr. Mars is killing this genre like the Knicks will kill the NBA with Melo and their unbelievable front court. I would love to see a Bruno Mars collab with Pharrell and a dirty Neptune’s beat. Any takers?

“California Gurls (Cover)” by Bruno Mars

It has been a while since I’ve posted a smooth R&B jam on FOC or since there has been a R&B track worth posting for that matter. So it made me smile when I heard the go-to R&B crooner of the moment Bruno Mars crush this cover of Katy Perry’s jam. Bruno Mars’ crazy vocals are so smooth he totally changes the feel of the song from getting loose and crazy with the girlies to wanting to take your significant other to a romantic dinner followed by a long walk on the beach…and I love it.

Techno Tuesday: Chugga Chugga Choo Choo!

This video has nothing to do with techno or music for that matter but that dude’s Denzel impression is absolutely priceless. On a completely different note I got that techno fire of the week. One of this week’s tracks includes some new Kaskade that will rock your socks off. And if your not wearing socks, well then it is just a techno heater.

“Just The Way You Are (Remix)” by Bruno Mars ft Lupe Fiasco [CDQ]

With apologies to the Lupe fans, this track is mostly Bruno Mars. Lupe spits for all of 16 seconds in the second verse and helps out on the intro. The whole track comes together as a sweet, smooth jam.

If you’ve been checking out the satellite campus section (top of the sidebar), you’ll have noticed that Bruno was recently arrested for drug possession. It’s not exactly what I’d expect from the guy who produces a track like this… I guess no one’s above the influence these days.

Bruno Mars talks about “F*ck You” by Cee-Lo


This “F*ck You” song that we just posted really took me by surprise. But now I’m starting to see more and more people calling it as ‘the song of the year’. While I think certain FCC rules will prevent this song from being distributed as widely as it could be, I think I’m actually starting to buy into that buzz. Something about the lyrics video and the way it catches you off-guard by being a generally positive, up-beat song by a guy who got dumped by a gold digger, despite the offensive title.
