“Bright Lights, Bigger City” by Cee-Lo

Fresh on Campus

While this track doesn’t rival the phenomenal catchiness of “Fuck You,” its still strong enough to show that Cee-Lo isn’t just another one-hit wonder can make multiple pop hits. Jesus…

Man i love this blog. lots of great music but sometimes your ignorance of the art of hip hop astounds me. you are seriously calling cee lo a one hit wonder. you think fuck you is the only song the guy has ever down. cee lo has been around since the early 90′s. he had tons of hits back in the day. and im guessing youve never heard of Gnarles Barkley either. man do some research before you type something about an artist.

listen to Goodie Mob – Cell Therapy, Dirty South (feat. Big Boi), Gnarles Barkley – Crazy, and his solo work, One For The Road, I’ll Be Around (feat. Timbaland), Kamikaze (feat Twista), The One (feat. T.I.) and many others then tell me if Cee Lo Brown’s Fuck You is a one hit wonder. Fuckin 16 year olds who discovered rap a year ago because of top 40 radio really piss me off sometimes.

easy derrik… as i clarified in the shoutbox earlier: “i guess one-hit-wonder isn’t exactly what i meant. more that he can make solid pop hits and shouldn’t just be know for that one song even though a lot of people only know him as “the guy who did F*ck You!”” you and some of our more knowledgeable readers have called me out on the ‘one hit wonder’ comment and i apologize for any confusion it caused.

its just a music blog bro

the fact that its a music blog does not excuse ignorance about music

If you don’t like the site then don’t come. He was unclear and after the confusion it caused, he clarified his statement. Considering the pure volume of his posts and how quickly he puts them up I’m surprised and impressed there haven’t been more mistakes like this.

PS: Gnarls Barkley is the fucking man

(for the record, Gnarls Barkley is a band of 2 guys, but I agree with Hartbr0 about everything else.)
